Individual online mentoring · developing pilot

You bring the direction.
We bring a co-pilot.

Stories that open possibilities. Conversations that take your ideas seriously. A practical project that belongs to you.

The young person leads

More possibility.
More ownership.

A passion can be the beginning of a project, a new skill or a different way of seeing your future.

Founder Seizon valavaiau is developing individual online mentoring for 13–17-year-olds in Gippsland. Bring the thing you already love, something you want to change, or the feeling that there must be more out there.

The aim is to develop independent thinking, confidence to try and the ability to turn an idea into a next step. There is no single outcome everyone has to reach.

The proposed mentoring rhythm

A conversation.
Then something worth trying.

01

Connect

A story, a question or something you’ve noticed. Start with what matters to you.

02

Explore

Look at a different perspective, ask better questions and choose something worth trying.

03

Make

Build, sketch, investigate or test a small version. Your mentor works alongside you.

04

Reflect

Notice what changed. Keep going, make it smaller, pause or choose another direction.

A flexible structure, not a compulsory sequence. Session length, timing and support will be agreed before the pilot starts.

Your lighthouse project

Something you can point to
and say, “I made that happen.”

Make a first version

A paper game, a comic, a model or a design sketch. Test what works and change what doesn’t.

Move a useful idea forward

Imagine a greener street or a better community space. Sketch a small, practical response.

Follow a question

Investigate wildlife, a system or a possible pathway. A better question can be a meaningful result.

Illustrative possibilities, not participant stories or promised outcomes. Careers are one possible direction; they aren’t the destination everyone must choose.

Where it began

A classroom.
A story.
A wider world.

Time as a teaching assistant showed Seizon how an unexpected story could open up a whole new set of questions.

Experiences, places and possibilities that felt familiar to one person were entirely new to someone else. Launch Horizon HQ grew from sharing that wider world earlier in life, and helping young people create their own way into it.

Starting in Gippsland, with a global ambition. First, a small pilot with the relationships, support and capacity to do it well.
